Ending

Yes, we have arrived home safe and sound. Looking forward to seeing the family at the party in Connecticut on Saturday.

All Good Things Must End

What an Adventure. It had to end and while the final casino (or what NC and eastern Native Americans call a casino) may not have exactly met our expectations, the overall Excellent Adventure was really, really fun.

We, Den and I, reflected on high , low, and median points on several topics as we drove towards Bristow, VA on US 29 (a fine, almost interstate like, road with 70 mile an hour speed limits in parts). Actually the same road Julie uses on her travels back and forth from home to school. The best part was visiting siblings, cousins, aunts, offspring along the way. We were able to tell our story, pump up our successes and gloss over our less than successes (there were so few). The country is beautiful. Oklahoma was my biggest surprise. It was green with interesting contours as well as an easy drive. Cherokee NC may have been the low point of casinos but getting there through the Smoky Mountains was exquisite. We even had to turn on the wipers a couple of times during our pass through.

We’ll see many of you on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Karen’s. Please don’t let us dominate the conversation and, by the way, just how close are Fox Wood and/or Mohegan Sun’s?
