The Chicago experience with casinos was mixed. Yesterday Kathy, Mel, and I (Glen was working on a software install) tried to play at casinos in both Elgin and Aurora. The high minimums for Sunday afternoon were in place so we passed on their blackjack tables. Aurora had a novel idea, you could play at a low limit table but had to pay $20 per hour for the privilege. Not something we found appealing. Kathy tried some slot machines but without success. Mel did well at their roulette though so the work session was not a total loss in that we had funds for food Monday night. We got some cool t shirts for registering with their promotions booth and it was a nice day for a drive.
The trip to the casinos followed a guided tour of New Hope Academy by the school's founder, Dr. Kathie Benson. We went there after a breakfast with Aunt Eileen, Mike, Mary and Don Stapleton at their favorite Sunday breakfast location.
On Monday Mel and I had a work session in Milwaukee at the Potawatomi tribe's casino. Monday is not Sunday and lots of playing opportunities were available. Mel played at one table and I at another. Mel drew the short straw though and his four session winning streak ended. I did well enough to get us lunch at their buffet. After returning to Buffalo Grove we washed clothes and planned the two final legs of the trip. We felt bad about planning to take needed reinvestment money from the Gulf Coast casinos and re- routed our trip to Tunica, MS instead.
Unfortunately the laptop has developed a dislike for it's UBS ports and so our digital photography has to remain on the camera for the time being. We will be in Denver on Friday night though so maybe we can download/upload on Mark and Melissa's computer.
