While trying to sign on Thursday morning we found that the WiFi hookup at Bonnie Springs was not working so all posts and emails from there waited until yesterday (Thursday) afternoon when we got to Colby Kansas. BTW: Bonnie Springs the WIFI in Wallaceburg Ontario worked fine.
Thursday morning was spent at the Potowatami tribe's prairie casino in Mayetta Kansas. This is the same name as the tribe that ran the casino in Milaukee, although "Potowatami" may just mean "tribe that runs casino". I will check Wikipedia and report.
I managed to win and recovered a little from yesterday's disaster at the Isle of Capri in Kansas City. The Potowatami casino itself was very nice, friendly dealer and staff; $10 in free slot play for signing up for their cards and lots of available tables. Mel found his ideal table, a single deck low limit table with a bunch of new rules and payout. He won more than I so I was assigned lunch and he was assigned dinner.
We drove across most of Kansas on US 24, vice I 70 in order to enjoy the corn more closely. Actually I was surprised that Kansas had lots of cattle ranches which were much more fun to look at than corn. We had lunch at a local burger drive in chain called Vista burgers in Manhattan KS near the Kansas State campus. Dinner was at a place called the Village Inn. They had a similar dinner special that was offered at Twisters where we ate on Wednesday night in Bonnie Springs.
Today we have a short drive into the front of the Rockies to Mark and Melissa's house in Denver.
